Central Asia, Tibet, ca. 19th century CE. A detailed, cast bronze figure of the goddess Lakshmi, depicted as a beautiful woman seated upon a multi-tiered throne. She has four arms, one raised in blessing, one palm out in a peaceful gesture, and the other two raised and holding attributes - a lotus flower and a conch shell. Her clothing is beautiful and ornate, her face gorgeous, and she wears an elaborate crown that indicates her royal status. Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth of all kinds - not just material wealth, but also the wealth of fame and family. Size: 3" W x 3.5" H (7.6 cm x 8.9 cm)
