Description:

Central Asia, Tibet, ca. mid to late 19th century CE. A fine cast-brass miniature amulet depicting the Green Tara (or Shyamatara), a mother goddess who offers protection from all dangers. She sits atop a tiered ovoid base in a half-lotus pose with her right leg hanging off, and her hands are presented in the varamudra pose. Her feminine figure is clothed in ornate garments, and her serene visage is capped with an intricate headdress. Size: 1.125" W x 1.8" H (2.9 cm x 4.6 cm).
