Central Asia, Tibet, 19th century CE. A heavy gilded bronze statue with a fantastic depiction of the Hindu god Shiva seated casually atop an armor-clad feline. He sits with his right arm draped over his knee and his left behind him, on the tiger's back. He wears litte, aside from several golden chains and a huge headdress. His implements are a trishula (trident) and a staff with a monkey head upon it. He and the tiger are on a tiered throne. Size: 4.4" L x 7.4" W x 8" H (11.2 cm x 18.8 cm x 20.3 cm)
