Southeast Asia, Thailand, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A finely cast-brass Buddha head with half closed eyes that reflect his tranquility. The face is framed by elongated ears, and tightly coiled nodules form his coiffure which encircle a flaming ushnisha in the center. A nice dark patina covers the surface of the this piece. This is a beautiful rendition of a youthful Buddha with great sensitivity to details that create a divine presence! Size: 3" W x 4.37" H (7.6 cm x 11.1 cm); 6.625" H (16.8 cm) on included custom stand.
