Description:

Southeast Asia, Thailand, Rattanakosin Period, ca. 19th to 20th century CE. A lovely cast brass fragmentary head portion of a Buddha sculpture, with a calm visage. His eyes are cast downwards under large lids and softly arched brows, and a slender nose and slightly smiling lips complete his tranquil expression. His ears are adorned with sizeable earrings that elongate his earlobes, and his head is covered by the flaming ushnisha headdress crown with frontal flanges. Size: 2.9" W x 5.1" H (7.4 cm x 13 cm); 6.9" H (17.5 cm) on included custom stand.
