A beautiful silver pocket watch featuring an enamel dial face painted with the image of Cupid in a rowboat beneath the motto "L'Amour trouve moyen" or "love finds a way," designed after the 18th Century William Tassie seal. The watch case is 86% silver, and the bezel is 68.86% silver, the case opens revealing the gold and copper mechanism stamped "A MORAT / G. Ph. Hoennigs." The 80% silver chain has a key ring at the end with the watch keys and a fob made from an 1826 sterling silver 5 Batzen coin issued from the Swiss Canton of Aargau. Size of watch case: 3.12" L x 2.13" Diameter x 0.88" W (7.9 cm x 5.4 cm x 2.2 cm); gold quality: 27.58%; silver quality: 68.86% to 93.67%; weight: 142 grams

  • Condition: Not functional but mechanism ticks when wound. Glass is slightly loose. Small chip to enamel face near key hole. Surface wear and nicks from use. Case opens and there are chips to copper / gold mechanism rim. Dark patina and toning. Overall great condition.
