A fabulous hand-carved wooden frog coconut grater, the amphibian is skillfully hand-carved in the round, squatting upon a octagonal plinth, with glass eyes, and fitted with a long metal grater extending from its mouth. Coconut has traditionally been used to create the most delicious fresh curries, desserts, and beverages in Thailand. A very special frog coconut grater that boasts a beautiful deep red finish, finely modeled and incised details, as well as nice patina from age and use. Size: 17" L x 10.25" H (43.2 cm x 26 cm)

  • Condition: Normal surface wear with some scuffs to pigmentation and stable hairline fissures commensurate with age. This said, nice remains of red pigment on frog body. Eyes are intact. Age cracks to separately carved plinth. Frog is joined to plinth via wooden pegs.
