Description:

Central Asia, Tibet or China, Sino-Tibet, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th century CE. A fine cast-copper statue of a seated Amitayus Buddha upon an openwork pedestal. He sits in full lotus position, wearing robes and jeweled necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, his hair arranged into a domed ushnisha top knot. This Buddha’s hands are folded in the dhyana mudra, and a piercing in the hands indicates there may have been a separate piece inserted here for him to hold - such as the vase of ambrosia. Size: 4.5" L x 3.5" W x 7" H (11.4 cm x 8.9 cm x 17.8 cm)
