Description:

Native American, Southwest, Plains Indians, ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. An attractive pair of beaded deer or buffalo hide moccasins, lane-stitched with sinew and glass beads of cherry red, forest green, navy blue, golden yellow, and white hues, across the vamp, on the tassels, and around the ankle. The beads are carefully arranged in striking striated and geometric motifs, and the beaded tassels also have metal beads and feathers adorning their terminals. Both moccasins have rawhide soles and insteps; the backstep borders are finished with a black and green floral fabric; and as further embellishment, wonderful rawhide fringe adorns the ankles. Quite a handsome pair! Size: 10.25" L x 4.125" H (26 cm x 10.5 cm)
