**Originally Listed At $550**

Southeast Asia, Philippines, Luzon Island, Ifugao, 19th century. A masterfully carved wooden ceremonial spoon (pakko) presenting a figural handle in the form of a seated male with crossed arms resting upon raised knees, looking out with a peaceful expression, his features - including ovoid eyes, a pronounced nose, an unsmiling mouth, tab-shaped ears, and a sharp jawline - all beautifully rendered. Atop the figure's head is an integral loop for suspending the spoon, and the lower section possesses an ample scoop. A lovely example with a lustrous patina. Size: 8.375" H (21.3 cm); 8.375" H (21.3 cm) on included custom stand.
