Near East / Central Asia, Persia, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. This is a lovely collection of 5 antique and high-quality silver vessels: a teapot, serving bowl, cup, saucer, and lidded box. The 83.7% silver teapot has a lovely, incised program of script and rondels containing a winged baraq. The lid is removable, and the interior has a built-in spout strainer. The 86.9% silver cup has a repousse scene of a dog, rabbit, and lion in a heavily vegetated landscape. The 99% silver saucer plate is adorned in interwoven script incised on the surface. The 94.9% to 95.28% silver lidded container is richly decorated with low relief men and woman on horses- either hunting deer or riding. The large bowl is 87.59% silver and rests on a pedestal foot, the thick walls incised with script and arabesque shapes. Size of large bowl: 7.25" Diameter x 4" H (18.4 cm x 10.2 cm); silver quality: 83.7% to 99.03%; total weight: 1490 grams.

  • Condition: Chips to rim of cup. Some indentations and bending to dish form and cup rim. Age and use expected wear, but overall good to great condition on each piece.
