Southeast Asia, Borneo, Central Kalimantan, Ngaju Dayak, ca. late 19th / early 20th century CE. A carved wood standing male charm figure presented in a stylized, abstract manner characteristic of the Dayak. This example stands with his hands placed upon his abdominal area, his legs slightly parted and genitalia clearly delineated. His visage is just as far from naturalistic with a simian like visage, enlarged features, and a caplike coiffure or headdress. Size: 6"H x 1"W + custom stand.

Provenance: Ex-private collection of the late Ami Brown, foremost Israeli art collector and founder of Coca Cola Israel.
