Central Asia, Nepal, ca. mid-19th to early 20th century CE. A ritualistic shaman's mask carved from dark brown hardwood with large eyes, a protruding nose, and incised teeth; a suspension hole near each temple shows how this was worn. Smooth patina has formed across the surfaces to create a lustrous presentation. Size: 2.5" L x 6.6" W x 9.125" H (6.4 cm x 16.8 cm x 23.2 cm); 13" H (33 cm) on included custom stand.
