Description:

Western Europe, probably Italy, Neoclassical period, ca. 19th century CE. A beautiful agate cameo featuring the bust of Minerva - Greek Athena - the Roman goddess of wisdom, justice, and victory, all in natural hues of white, chocolate, and mocha. The deity faces left, boasting a noble visage as luscious, coiled locks flow out from beneath her high-crested, Corinthian helmet. The side of her helmet displays the relief image of a striding lion, likely intended as a symbol of her strength and bravery. Easily set into a pendant for a wearable piece of history! Size: 1.5" L x 1.1" W (3.8 cm x 2.8 cm)
