Western Europe, probably England, France, or Italy, Neoclassical Period, ca. 19th century CE. A fabulous agate cameo pendant featuring the elegant bust of an aristocratic woman. The right-facing woman peers forward with downcast eyes beneath a sweeping coiffure, dons drop-form earrings and a beaded necklace, and flaunts her neckline and upper chest above the collar of an elegant gown. The opaque white profile is presented centered on a peach-hued stone, and the entire composition is fitted within an openwork 63% silver setting covered with gilding and with a horizontal pin on the verso.
