Native American, Pacific Northwest Coast, United States or Canada, Salish, ca. late 19th to mid-20th century CE. A collection of 3 wood cod lures with knob shaped and zoomorphic heads, and each 3 fin panels attached with cotton and plant fiber cords. These lures were pushed underwater by poles and as they floated to the surface, they spiraled up in a way that mimicked prey and attracted cod fish. Mounted in a modern display case. Size of large lure: 9" L x 3" W (22.9 cm x 7.6 cm); case: 14" L x 3.5" W x 14" H (35.6 cm x 8.9 cm x 35.6 cm)
