Description:

Native American, Central United States, Plains Indians, ca. 19th century CE. An impressive club carved from wood and wrapped in animal hide with a smooth stone striking head secured by a tight leather loop. Ovoid in shape with points at each end, the striking head boasts a lustrous surface of a deep russet hue. The leather covering is sewn with animal sinew, which forms a lovely spiraling seam up the side of the handle and helps to secure the stone head. Size: 4.6" W x 28.7" H (11.7 cm x 72.9 cm)
