Native American, southeastern United States, Cherokee, ca. 19th century CE. An impressive stone pipe of tubular form hand-carved with the figure of a wolf resting on the top. The canine rests its head atop the pipe stem showing a broad snout and a pointed ear. Its body lays along the rest of the pipe with limbs hanging downward and a petite tail extending toward the mouthpiece. Size: 6.3" L x 1.1" W x 1.5" H (16 cm x 2.8 cm x 3.8 cm)
