Description:

Central Asia, India, ca. 1850 CE. A solid cast bronze cast miniature figurine depicting a Hindu deity, possibly Parvati. Parvati is traditionally understood as the consort of Shiva and is usually presented as a beautiful woman with no superfluous limbs, as we see in this example. She is adorned with an elaborate headdress. Her neck, shoulders, and waist are draped with jewelry. She stands atop a hollow-cast double lotus, waisted pedestal. A fine example, with remarkable details, skillfully conveying the figure's pose and expression! Size: 3-1/2" (8.9 cm) high
