Latin America, Mexico, ca. 19th century CE. A charming antique tin nicho comprised of a rectangular frame with colorful glass inlay adorning the border, attachments in the form of ribbon or perhaps parted curtain with rosette and floral motifs adorning the upper corners, and an arch with radiating rays of holy light surrounded by a beaded border. An antique European print of the Virgin and Child surrounded by angels is set within. Size: 13.6" W x 18.25" H (34.5 cm x 46.4 cm)

  • Condition: Print has some losses to the edges as shown, is wavy, and is lightly stained. Image is still very clear. Lower panel of glass is in two pieces. Tin is slightly smoothed and bent at the edges. Rich deposits on much of the surface, mostly in lower profile areas.
