Description:

North America, Mexico, Spanish Colonial Period, ca. 19th century CE. A lovely set of nine cast-iron spear tips and a forged-iron bayonet head. The nine spear tips have conical socketing shafts, tapered midsections, and lengthy, slender points, with some bearing incised aesthetic grooves. The iron bayonet head has a cylindrical socketing shaft with an angled lock slot, a squat arm projecting from the bottom, and a petaloid blade with sharp edges and a pointed tip. Traces of brass embellishments are visible on the arm and bottom of the blade. Wonderful patina envelops each of these fine examples! Size of largest (bayonet): 1.375" W x 12.2" H (3.5 cm x 31 cm); 13.875" H (35.2 cm) on included custom stand.
