An intriguing trio of books regarding delusions and insanity: 2 of "Lessons from the History of Medical Delusions" by Worthington Hooker and 1 of "Insanity in Ancient and Modern Life" by Daniel Hack Tuke. Worthington Hooker (b. 1806 - d. 1867)was an American physician who studied at Yale and Harvard thus practiced medicine in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. His "Lessons" was a Fiske Fund Prize Dissertation of the Rhode Island Medical Society. Alternatively, Daniel Hack Tuke was an English physician who came from a long line of Quakers from York who were interested in mental illness and concerned with those afflicted. Size of largest: 6" L x 0.4" W x 9" H (15.2 cm x 1 cm x 22.9 cm)

His great-grandfather William Tuke and his grandfather Henry Tuke co-founded the Retreat, which revolutionized the treatment of insane people.
