Description:

Western Europe, Italy or Czech Republic, Bohemia, ca. 19th century CE. A fine pair of regal glass goblets, both with pontil scars on the base indicating they were free blown. The thick base is discoidal with a thick stem and piriform cup. The exterior of both is hand painted with bold golden and cream-colored flourishes, and stippled motifs that are ornate and rococo in style. While a matching pair, one is slightly taller than the other. Size (taller cup): 4.125" W x 9.75" H (10.5 cm x 24.8 cm)

Provenance: Whisnant Gallery, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA acquired prior to 2000
