Southeast Asia, Indonesia, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A hand-carved wooden figure of a woman wearing a long gown, the details of her clothing carefully incised and remarkably elaborate for what appears at first glance to be a simple figure. She wears a crown and has her hands clasped over her narrow waist. She stands atop a pedestal, made to be mounted inside a temple. Painted a uniform purple, with hints of a dark blue underneath the purple. Size: 2.9" W x 14.5" H (7.4 cm x 36.8 cm); 16.05" H (40.8 cm) on included custom stand.
