Description:

Southeast Asia/Oceania, Indonesia, ca. 19th century CE. A heavy, iron-bladed weapon with a single sharp side and curved lower edge. The handle is kris (keris)-like, thin, cylindrical, and curved at the top, with deeply carved, ornate vine motifs, some of them openwork at the upper portion of the curve. Pale wood forms a simple sheath. The weapon has the form of a long machete. Size: 4.5" W x 30.65" H (11.4 cm x 77.9 cm)
