Southeast Asia, Indonesia, ca. 19th century CE. A beautiful kris handle that is hand-carved from fossilized marine ivory of white, yellow, honey, slate, and coffee hues. The curved handle depicts an abstract zoomorphic creature with a diamond-shaped head, parky ears, and incised eyes, and a deep cavity beneath the base enabled the handle to fit onto the tang of a kris blade. Size: 2.75" L x 1.8" W x 3.4" H (7 cm x 4.6 cm x 8.6 cm); 4.4" H (11.2 cm) on included custom stand.

This is an ESA antique exempt piece of ivory and cannot be sold internationally or to anyone residing in the states of California, Hawaii, Illinois, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington. We guarantee that the piece was made prior to CITES bans.
