South Asia, northern India, Deccan Plateau, ca. 19th century CE. A refined, mold-made copper ceremonial mace presenting a spiraling body with a bulb-like pommel that tapers to a double-headed ram finial. Extending diagonally outward in opposite directions, each ram head displays petaloid ears, curved horns, an elongated snout, a slightly open mouth, and a lengthy neck adorned with scrolling vegetal and avian relief decoration. Size: 10.5" W x 20.6" H (26.7 cm x 52.3 cm)
