Description:

Central Asia, India, ca. 19th century CE. A graceful cast bronze horse, cast to stand atop a rectangular, tiered pedestal. The horse is depicted with decorative saddle and reins, its mane and tail braided. The pedestal has two square projections that are open, perhaps to attach the piece to a larger object. The horse, alongside the elephant, cow, bull, and tiger, are considered animals who are sacred and spiritually evolved in Hinduism. Size: 2.9" L x 2.1" W x 4.1" H (7.4 cm x 5.3 cm x 10.4 cm)
