Western Europe, probably England or France, ca. 19th century CE. A gorgeous 88.6% gold ring of solid construction with a slender shank and an ovoid bezel. Within the bezel is a form-fitting sardonyx cameo bearing the classic image of Hercules (Greek Herakles) in a state of drunkenness as he slings his club over one shoulder while grasping his phallus with his other hand; though not explicitly presented here, this pose depicts the mythical hero urinating.
