Description:

Western Europe, Germany, ca. late 19th century to mid 20th century CE. An anatomically correct paper mache and wood model of the human throat, painted and manufactured by the Marcus Sommer SOMSO-Werkstatten renamed to Marcus Sommer SOMSO Modelle GmbH in 2007. This model shows the neck, mouth, and nasal passage, all painted in fleshy tones of beige, pink, red, and yellow. The parts are not labeled. The head is mounted on a black wooden board with a metal wire on the back for suspension. Marcus Sommer established the company in 1876 and they have been creating human, zoological, and botanical models ever since! This is a fantastic antique version that would make a great teaching tool or decoration for a lab or doctor's office! Size: 8.125" L x 2.875" W x 10.675" H (20.6 cm x 7.3 cm x 27.1 cm)
