Western Europe, Germany & France, Black Forest region, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE; United States, Ohio, ca. 19th century CE. East Asia, China, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A collection of 3 smoking pipes made from wood, brass, stoneware, and jadeite! The wooden pipe has a cylider bowl wih the bark still attached ,a cherrywood stem with bark, ad an flexible cord neck and polished woood mouthpiece. The smallest is a stoneware bowl, mold made with a ribbed surface, and a simple reed stem, liekly from the Ohio Akron company. The longest is an ornate Chinese piece, with a polished jadeite mouthpiece, stright brass stem with faint vine motifs, and a wood bowl with brass rims perhaps for tobacco or opium. Size of brass pipe: 14.5" L x 4.5" W (36.8 cm x 11.4 cm)

Provenance: ex-private Bishop Family Trust collection, the Trust of the late Bill Bishop, a noted antiquarian with shops in Scottsdale, Arizona and Allenspark, Colorado, USA, acquired before 2010
