Description:

Europe, Germany, untitled oil on board, ca. 1820 CE. An ethereal scene, seemingly shrouded in fog and mystery, this marvelous composition presents a lofty castle amidst a mountainous landscape with a stone bridge below and rosy cloud-filled skies above. A strong example of German Romanticism with dreamy landscape and skies reminiscent of those by Caspar David Friedrich. The antique frame is also quite beautiful with lustrous gold leaf, centered gesso floral decorations, a beaded filet, and continuous corners. Size: 13" W x 10.75" H (33 cm x 27.3 cm); 16.5" W x 14.375" H (41.9 cm x 36.5 cm) including frame
