Description:

East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th century CE. A pair of carbon-steel stirrups used for equestrian purposes with slightly convex foot platforms, two tapered arms that slope inwards, and rectangular buckles on top. The exterior of each arm bears faint foliate motifs that accentuate the overall presentation along with dark layers of smooth patina. Size of each (both are relatively similar): 5.4" L x 5.25" W x 6.2" H (13.7 cm x 13.3 cm x 15.7 cm)

  • Condition: Both items have very slight bending to overall forms of stirrup platforms and arms, with fading to foliate motifs on arms, and light abrasions, otherwise intact and very good. Nice patina throughout.
