East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th century CE. A beautiful pottery bowl displaying a ring-form base, a rounded bottom, curved walls, and a flared rim adorned with a stippled border, all intricately painted with blue-on-white decoration. An elaborate tondo embellishes the interior basin, featuring a serene scene of a pagoda with trees, birds, a fence, a bridge, a boat, and several fishermen, surrounded by a complex, geometric border. The area just below the rim additionally showcases another border of abstract spiraling designs and vegetal elements above a lattice pattern. Liberal remains of a similarly decorated ring encircles the exterior. The foot has been pierced with 2 drill holes and strung with a modern string, allowing the gorgeous dish to be suspended for display. Size: 13.2" Diameter x 3.4" H (33.5 cm x 8.6 cm)

- Condition: Repaired from several pieces with restoration, repainting, and some break lines visible. Some pieces do not match, suggesting that pieces are either missing or repainted. Expected nicks, chips, pitting, and abrasions, all commensurate with age. Loss of painted decoration on exterior. Otherwise, very nice with lovely remaining pigments and detail.
