Description:

East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. last quarter of the 19th century. A framed erotic ink drawing on silk fabric. The artist has provided a bird's eye view of this pair of lovers who are engaged an intimate encounter, quite graphically depicted, beneath a tree canopy in an outdoor garden - some of their garments draped over a gorgeous blue ceramic piece in the background and a banister in the foreground - all hand drawn with ink and hand colored in watercolor. A wonderful example of Asian erotic art from this period. Set in a triple mat (gold, cornflower blue, and off-white linen) under glass in a gold-hued wooden frame. Size: 10.125" L x 7.5" W (25.7 cm x 19 cm); 20.125" L x 17" W (51.1 cm x 43.2 cm) including mats and frame
