Southeast Asia, Burma (Myanmar), ca. late 19th to early 20th century CE. A beautiful, lacquered wood Shakyamuni Buddha seated in the full lotus position, with hands in the Bhumisparsa mudra, embellished with a floral and bead-patterned inlaid mirror and glass shards along his headband, sash, and trim on his robe, as well as the arching mandorla panel. Size: 7" L x 4" W x 14" H (17.8 cm x 10.2 cm x 35.6 cm); 15" H (38.1 cm) on included custom stand.
