Central Europe, Austria-Hungary, ca. 1872 to 1922 CE. A beautiful enameled silver cigarette case with scrolling floral motifs of purple, blue, and black separated by delicate wires. The exterior base and the clasp tabs are stamped with a maker mark or town code "WM" with the Austria-Hungary hallmark with a dog head facing right flanked by a "3" for the 0.800 silver purity, and city letter "P" for Pest (Budapest). The dog head mark with the city designation was used between 1872 to 1922. Size: 3.75" L x 2.4" W x 0.5" H (9.5 cm x 6.1 cm x 1.3 cm); silver quality: 93.78% to 94.66%; weight: 110.6 grams
