Description:

South America, Argentina, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A set of matching nickel-silver spurs with curved heel bands and sharp iron rowels, that resemble Christ's crown of thorns, and are sometimes called "Nazarena" spurs. The bands and rowel housing are adorned with scrolling petaloid motifs and leaves and a chain link band with an ornate buckle clasp secured these spurs to the boots of a charro or gaucho cowboy. An ornate accessory and fully functional - the pronged rowels spin freely and are quite sharp. Size of heel band & rowel: 9.5" L x 3.5" W (24.1 cm x 8.9 cm)
