Description:

North America, United States, ca. late 19th century CE. A pair of tanned leather pistol holsters meant to be affixed to a belt via vertical strap loops on the verso. The first holster is of a chocolate brown color with ample remains of dark brown pigment and a brass button used to secure shut the front flap. The larger holster exhibits a uniform dark brown color and has a lengthy frontal strap, a thick tie on the back loop, and the letters "WC" tooled onto the front. Size of largest (dark brown): 5.875" W x 13.625" H (14.9 cm x 34.6 cm)

  • Condition: Both pieces have expected desiccation to leather commensurate with age, with larger holster bearing damage to fold of top flap, and light brown holster with fading and abrasions to surface pigment, otherwise intact and very good. Nice coloration throughout.
