West Africa, Mali, Djenne peoples, ca. 19th century CE. A hand-built redware pottery jar with a flat base, a tapering conical body, and a wide mouth. The shoulder and base are decorated with registers of incised striations that create a textured gripping surface. Size: 2.55" W x 4.75" H (6.5 cm x 12.1 cm).
