Native American, Southwest, New Mexico, Acoma Pueblo, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A lovely pottery bowl, intricately adorned with hand-painted black and white decoration of numerous interlocking steppe motifs. This mesmerizing, geometric decoration is reminiscent of pottery from the ancient Ancestral Puebloans (also known as Anasazi). A rare and early example! Size: 5.2" Diameter x 3.6" H (13.2 cm x 9.1 cm)

  • Condition: Professional repair and restoration to areas of rim; all very well done and barely visible. Some light surface wear as expected with age, but otherwise excellent presentation with good remaining pigments. Faint remains of "Acoma" and initials inscribed on underside of base.
