Description:

Western Central Asia, Iran, Persia, ca. 19th century CE. A dagger whose blade is made from a British or French bayonet. The dagger has an ornate bronze and bone handle, with an incised pattern ringing the upper portion. The handle curves over to form a one-sided hilt. Thick leather with brass forms a sewn sheath with a pretty floral pattern on its upper portion. The kindjal is also known as a khanjali or a kinzhal, depending on where it is used, and they are seen throughout the Caucasus region. Size: 13.5" L x 1.8" W (34.3 cm x 4.6 cm)
