Jon Zahourek (American, b. 1940). Two drawings of male nudes - 1 charcoal and 1 ink. Both are hand-signed and dated 1984. A fabulous pair of life drawings depicting male nudes by American artist Jon Zahourek. One figure is delineated in black ink and the other is rendered in charcoal. As an artist, Zahourek developed a great passion for rendering the human body and eventually created a system for teaching anatomy. This pair of sensual compositions certainly demonstrates Zahourek's enthusiasm for both his artistic process and the human body. In the 1960s, Jon Zahourek dropped out of college to become an artist. By way of Taos, New Mexico and later Denver, Colorado Zahourek was part of a thriving community of artists, exhibiting his work with prominent contemporaries including Ned Jacobs, Buffalo Kaplinski, George Carlson, and Fritz White. In the 1970s, Zahourek moved to New York to teach painting. He continued as an artist and educator, and eventually fueled his passion for anatomy into developing a system for teaching anatomy which has been used by more than 6,000 classrooms across the United States.

- Condition: Both drawings are hand-signed and dated 1984. Ink drawing has Byron Westin Co watermark and is in overall excellent condition. Charcoal drawing has minor crease marks at peripheries and very slight smudges here and there. Otherwise it is in very nice condition overall.
