Description:

Native American, southwestern United States, Navajo tribe, ca. 1970s, signed by Navajo silversmith Tommy Singer (1940-2014). A lovely sterling silver (92.5%+) pendant depicting a Kokopelli, an ancient Native American symbol evocative of fertility and the safe birth of human, animal, and plant life. The Kokopelli pendant presents as a dancing figure with a signature hunched pose while playing a large wind instrument and wearing a knee-length garment decorated with incised geometric, stepped, and linear motifs. A small loop is attached to the figure's back, and a large, attached suspension loop enables the piece to be worn as a pendant on a necklace. Size: 0.75" W x 2.125" H (1.9 cm x 5.4 cm); quality of sterling silver: 92.5% or higher; total weight: 11.1 grams.
