Description:

Native American, Southwestern United States, Arizona, Hopi, ca. 1970s CE. A vibrant cottonwood kachina figure featuring a teal case mask, yellow beak, green ruff, red rain sash, and adorned with attached yarn and feathers. A paper tag from the 2nd Mesa Hopi Arts & Crafts organization is affixed, with handwritten details in cursive that include the kachina's name and the artist's name; however, the tag is creased and taped, making both names challenging to discern, though the artist appears to be "Alvin Tenakhongua." This figure represents the Tasap (or Tasaf) Kachina, also known as the "Navajo Kachina," symbolizing the Hopi view of their Navajo neighbors. Size: 5" L x 5" W x 10.5" H (12.7 cm x 12.7 cm x 26.7 cm)
