Williams Family (First Nations / Canada, Nootka / Nuu-cha-nulth, 20th century). Totem Pole. Wooden sculpture, 1956. Signed with date, location, and culture on underside of base. A skillfully carved wooden totem pole comprised of several expressively rendered zoomorphs arranged in a column, featuring, from top to bottom, a kingfisher a frog, a killer whale, and a seal hunter holding a baby seal. The Williams family consists of 3 generations of renowned artists, who have been carving and selling totem poles since the early 1900s. The family is well known by collectors all over North America and Europe. Size: 4" L x 4.3" W x 24.5" H (10.2 cm x 10.9 cm x 62.2 cm)
