Description:

United States, Alaska, ca. 1950's. A very desirable Native American made bracelet made from fossilized mammoth tusk, walrus ivory, jade and gold nuggets. Three carved scenes of bears, miner and moose between 6 panels of Alaskan gold nuggets and Alaskan jade affixed to walrus ivory which has then been affixed to mammoth ivory sections. Each panel separated by walrus ivory beads and attached with elastic cords so the bracelet can be stretched to allow it to fit on most hands/wrists. Gold nuggets have each been verified with XRF and range from 85 to 92% gold, with 7 to 14% silver and traces of iron and/or copper. While they cannot be accurately weighed with 6 sizable nuggets we are confident the value of the gold, now selling at $2500 per ounce, exceeds the auction low estimate. Size: Will fit most wrists up to mid-sized male (me). .875" H for each panel.
