Description:

Europe, France, circa 1936 (per engraving on bell). A wonderful bugle created by the Couesnon company of Paris, France (established in 1827). This brass military clarion is beautifully inscribed on the bell with the Couesnon name as well as the flaming bomb logo at the bottom. The number inside the bomb represents the year of manufacture - in this case '36' for 1936, dating it just prior to World War II. The horn shows some expected age wear but still plays and has its leather wrap! Size: 20.375" L (51.8 cm)

Inscription reads, "In truth is music" inside a ribbon, followed by "Couesnon & Cie. / Fournisseurs de L'Armee / 94 Rue D'angouleme / Paris" and "36" inside a flaming bomb.
