Eastern Europe, 1936 CE. Struck at a time of great turmoil throughout all of Europe, with the Nazis firmly in power and the rest of Europe in fear of what they might do. This was also the time of the 1936 Olympics. This is a large bronze medallion for which I am unable to find any reference. Stamped on the front are workers carrying shovels and a menacing eagle in the background. The obverse has a single vertical shovel among the names of eastern European cities including Krakow, Sowiniac, and Budowa (Poland) , & Kopca (Serbia). Makers name - J. Bandura in small letters on front and number 4148 on side. Size: 1.95" W (5 cm)
