Native American, Western United States, Central California, Yokut tribe, ca. 1910 CE. A stunning example of a gift basket that is hand-woven from delicate fern root in hues of beige and tan. Around the walls are 2 bands consisting of mirrored black triangles as well as red diamonds centered between that mimic the patterning of some breeds of rattlesnake. The incredibly dense and tight weaving pattern has preserved this bowl for decades and shows the skill of the Yokut artisans. Size: 10.3" Diameter x 4.1" H (26.2 cm x 10.4 cm)
